Prolific songwriter, producer, performer and musical director, Dave Okumu, was awarded an honorary fellowship from Goldsmiths in 2018.

As a performer, writer and producer, Dave Okumu has been at the cutting edge of music over the last decade.

Best known for fronting the critically-acclaimed band The Invisible, whose self-titled debut album was nominated for a Mercury Prize and was selected as an iTunes Album of the Year in 2009. He has also worked with Adele, Grace Jones and Amy Winehouse to name a few.

In 2010, he collaborated with Jessie Ware on her debut album entitled Devotion – which was also nominated for a Mercury Prize. 

Okumu released his first solo record Knopperz in 2021; an instrumental concept album based on pianist Duval Timothy’s 2017 album Sen Am. The album was followed by I Came From Love in 2023, Okumu’s first album of purely original material. The album features fellow artists including Kwabs, Anthony Joseph and Grace Jones.
